In June 2003, the NEOC participated in a public forum on
predatory lending at the Skinner Magnet Center in Omaha. Floyd May,
General Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and
Urban Development, gave a presentation on "Getting Credit when Credit
is Due." He discussed "protecting yourself against
predatory lending practices," as well as issues such as credit
repair, debt elimination, and filing complaints of discrimination.
The community forum was sponsored by the NEOC, the Omaha
Human Relations Department, and Stennis and Associates.
Below are photographs from the public form as well as
images of the billboards that are placed throughout Omaha.
